Osteopathic Care & Appointments

What is a DO?

Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs) are fully licensed physicians who practice in every medical specialty. Osteopathic training emphasizes the relationship between structure and function, the whole person, and the ways lifestyle and environment influence health.

What is Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine?

Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM or OMT) is a hands-on evaluation and treatment of structural and functional issues in the bones, joints, tissues, organs, and muscles of the body.

OMM utilizes the relationship between the neuromusculoskeletal system and the rest of the body to restore functionality and/or remove barriers to motion and healing.

A variety of techniques are used, some direct and some indirect, to restore functionality and balance to the body.

What concerns may be addressed with osteopathic treatment?

Osteopathic treatment may be considered as one part of care for musculoskeletal pain, mobility restrictions, tension headaches, jaw discomfort, sports injuries, pregnancy-related discomfort, and selected symptoms associated with neurologic or respiratory conditions. Whether treatment is appropriate depends on an individual medical evaluation. It is not a substitute for urgent, emergency, or specialist care.

Medicare & Insurance Information

(Please read before reviewing cash rates)

Dr. Halbeisen is a Medicare-participating provider.

For Medicare patients, services are billed directly to Medicare in accordance with Medicare guidelines.

For non-Medicare patients, Dr. Halbeisen is considered out of network with most commercial insurance plans. These visits are provided on a cash-pay basis, with payment due at the time of service.

As a courtesy, our office prepares and submits superbills directly to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Patients do not need to prepare or submit their own superbills. Reimbursement amounts vary by plan and are determined solely by your insurance carrier.
